GIFT BASKET TIPS
HOW TO BUILD A BASKET
Start with your container or base. You don't have to use a basket. Be creative! Here are a few items you can use: *Be sure to wait until you get ALL your contents so you know how big or small your containter should be.
FILLER:
Fill your container by using crumbled up newspaper or magazines. Now you can add your more expensive colorful shredded paper as your top layer. Most people make the mistake of using expensive bags and bags of filler or they end up with a sunked in basket. Remember to always build your basket UP by using newspaper then using the pretty stuff as the top layer.
CONTENTS:
Distribute your weight evenly or you'll end up with a basket falling over. If you only have one heavy item, place it in the center then the lighter ones around it.
Normally, your taller items go in the back.
Stack things on top of each other. How do you hold everything in place? With "Glue Dots", hidden picks, sticks and using some of your basket contents.
WRAPPING IT UP:
You can either buy the clear gift basket bags or you can buy the clear cellophane roll. DO NOT use the printed xmas bags or cellophane. People will not be able to see the contents when they're making their bids. If they can't see the items, they'll move on to the next one.
FINISHING TOUCHES:
Use an easy pull down bow, ribbon, flower, ornament or anything you desire.
